Nyumbani Chronicles

Corruption has seeped into the conduits of magic on Nyumbani disturbing the slumber of the elder dragons who depend on them for non-carnal sustenance. Mael, a young boy blessed by the Orishas with unesiphiwo (the gift) mistakenly thinks he’s responsible for his mother’s death runs into a retired magus Simon who recognizes the dangers of an untrained magic user running amok and tries to take him in. The presumed fallen magus Motu who started the corruption at the behest of an unscrupulous god will stop at nothing if it means his love will be returned to him whole. Three travelers from another dimension have unwittingly placed themselves in the middle of all this strife. One however is simply returning home.

Nyumbani Chronicles Genesis of a Chaos Master introduces a few of the Orishas. Two of them debate over which of their lightning powers is more potent. Olurun, the Sky god and creator, offers to settle the debate but is more interested in stopping the argument. Instead of testing the talents collected from Oya and Shango, he places them inside an unborn child about to make his way into life on Nyumbani. Will the young one be overcome and destroyed by these powers, or will he gain full control of them to become one of the most powerful battle magus to ever dawn the robes?

Battle weary retired Magus Simon is led to the great city of Kemet by his wandering ways. Seeking the comfort of a hot meal, warm bed and a good drink, he runs into a young kid with a great deal of potential as a magic user. Blessed by the Orisha, Mael has no idea of how powerful he could become or how dangerous wielding his unesiphiwo (gifts) can be. Thus begins the parable of Inyoka Encinane (little serpent). Simon feels honor bound to at least attempt to teach this young one how to use and control his raw powers before he ends up in irons or worse. Do you know why young snakes are viewed as more dangerous than adults?
